Coach Education A Level 1 (assistant coach) course is being planned for Autumn 2006 at Carmarthen Leisure centre as part of the ongoing development of coaching education within our region. The proposed dates are 7th, 8th and 14th , 15th October. Welsh Triathlon are also in the process of arranging a Level 3 course to be held at Cardiff in the Spring of 2007. The coach education programme places a great emphasis on a coach's competence
rather than knowledge (what they can do, rather than what they know).
Through this, we draw out the importance of the ?how to skills
of coaching rather than the ?what skills, in particular by integrating
theory into practice. To enable a coach to progress, we aim to create
more opportunities to put their coaching skills into practice, with readily
available feedback from our tutors. |
